Marcus Showcase Tournament
Game 1
vs. Denton Guyer
Thursday was a
cool January day in Flower Mound at the Marcus Stadium. From the start, the Lady Wolves meant
business, scoring early and often.
First goal sent into the net
by Taylor Barg, assisted by Karson Keogh.
In what seemed like a few short minutes, Casie Ramsier headed the ball
into the net assisted by Tori Gates.
The Wolfpack wasnt nearly done, as Sparky Fischer hits the back of the
net, assisted by Maddie Everhart.
At the half, our Lady Wolves are up, 3-0.
Guyer wasnt
ready to concede the game, and we took our foot off the gas a bit. Guyer scores two goals, and all of a
sudden, its a game again, Wolfpack 3, Guyer Wildcats 2.
Those two goals
by Guyer served as a wakeup call to the Wolves. Taylor Jackson finds the net, assisted
by Lauren Caillouet. Not about to let this one get away, Londyn Beal grabs a
point, assisted by Tori Gates.
The Wildcats
werent going to go out quietly, and they added a third goal to make the score
5-3, Plano West.
However, the
Wolfpack slammed the door on any thought that Guyer might make a game of it in
the end. Lauren Caillouet finds the
net with an assist from Tori Gates, followed quickly by quick score from Logan
Beal, assisted by McKina Michael.
Result: 7-3
Win
Game 2 vs. Naaman Forest
The warm
afternoon has turned into a cool evening for a Lady Wolves match. Buoyed by great confidence from the 7-3
win the previous day, the Lady Wolves never left any doubt that this game was
theirs. From the outset, it was all
offense, keeping the Naaman Forest Lady Rangers on their
heels.
Sparky Fischer
grabs a point, its 1-0 Lady Wolves.
Logan Beal then finds the net, assisted by Tori Gates. Its not even halftime yet, and theyre
not done. Jalynn Barron hits,
assisted by Lauren Caillouet. The
score is 3-0 at the half.
The second half
starts, and so does the Wolfpack attack.
An apparent goal by Jalynn Barron isnt counted, and the score remains
3-0. Logan Beal finds the back of
the net, assisted by Ashleigh Bibby its now 4-0.
Casie Ramsier adds to the scoring in the second
half with a solid goal on an
assist from Maddie Everhart. Its
5-0, Plano West.
The Wolfpack
finishes this game off with a final goal from Ashley Smith, assisted by Taylor
Barg.
Result: 6-0
Win
Game 3 vs. Fossil Ridge
Another cool
but comfortable January evening at the Marcus Showcase. This match with the Fossil Ridge
Panthers has shaped up to be our toughest of this young
season.
The Panthers
are a highly skilled, very physical group of young ladies, and from the opening
whistle they never let up. We held
them scoreless for most of the first half, but they scored with 9 minutes to go
until the halftime intermission.
As the second
half begins, the Lady Wolves were very determined not to let this one slip
away. We had opportunities but
couldnt find the net.
It was a tough,
hard fought match, but for the first time in the two pre-season tournaments, the
Wolfpack left the pitch on the losing end of the
scoreboard.
Result: 0-1

National Elite Prep Showcase
The first real test
for the Wolfpack in this early season nationally ranked showcase.
Game 1 vs. St. Stephens
It was a very cold,
hard fought game. Both teams were willing, but unable to find the back of the
net.
Result: 0-0
Tie
Game 2 vs. American
Heritage
Still cold, but not like yesterday. Again, a hard
fought game with neither team gaining much of an advantage. Halftime score was
0-0. The Lady Wolves came out of half-time ready to play, which led to a score by freshman
Nicole Smith. The Wolfpack seems ready to claim their first win of the
tournament, until a foul in the box leads to a PK for American Heritage.
Result: 1-1 Tie
Game 3 vs. Murrieta
Nice afternoon for soccer. Good effort by the Lady Wolves, and
while technically an own goal, the Wolfpack wins off a shot by Nicole Smith
assisted by Casie Ramsier.
Result: 1-0 Win
Game 4 vs. Amarillo
A beautiful, sunny late
morning game in Fort Worth. The ladies have fought hard and have had many
chances, but it remained 0-0 at the half. The action picked up dramatically in
the second half with an early goal by Nicole Smith, assisted by Logan Beal.
That goal was closely followed by second Wolfpack score by Logan Beal,
assisted by Morgan Murphy. Nice day for soccer, an even nicer day to come away
with a win.
Result: 2-0 Win

Elite Prep Showcase final record: 2-0-2
